Saying Farewell to our ABC Black-ish Family at Smithsonian’s NMAAHC

BLACK-ISH – “Episode TBD” (ABC/Paul Morigi) MARCUS SCRIBNER, JENIFER LEWIS, ANTHONY ANDERSON, TRACEE ELLIS ROSS, MARSAI MARTIN, DR. JUNGMIWHA BULLOCK, KADIR NELSON, MILES BROWN (ABC/Paul Morigi)

April 9, 2022 | Washington, DC – It was truly an honor for us to work with ABC and the phenomenal sitcom Black-ish, its cast, staff, and creators, on a few amazing projects over the years. We celebrated together at a beautiful special private event for the series finale at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.

For their final season, THE JKBN GROUP was tasked for Kadir to create the keyart — and boy did he deliver! The confluence of Kadir’s painting and my documentary footage and stills were used to create several of the promos for the season, and as a special treat for everyone attending the finale, we worked with key staff to surprise everyone with viewing the original painting in person prior to walking into the theatre. It was a huge success and a special ending to an even more special show that represented the cultural essence and dignity of the community for so many years.

Congratulations to everyone at ABC/Black-ish on a job WELL done!
