Fall Into Literacy Book Festival Book Signing

Saturday, October 10, 2015 | Wilmington, CA – I was delighted to be invited to participate at this year’s 5th Annual Fall Into Literacy Book Festival, held in the city of Wilmington, sponsored by United Way. I had the honor of signing my book, Am I Half Giraffe: A Multilingual Book for Children, at the East West Discovery Press* booth for the hundreds of families within the community looking to increase literacy among young people.

This collaborative event is a wonderful, much needed effort provided to the community of Wilmington (located outside of Long Beach) where authors, book readings, live performances, and book signings are available on the beautiful grounds of the Banning Residence Museum. One unique feature is that the first 100 families receive a free book voucher to be used to purchase any books being sold at the festival. In addition, every family after that has to visit every booth in order to receive the same offer. This enabled everyone in participation, from staff, to authors, to families, to interact with one another frequently throughout the day.

All sales support the Los Angeles Public Library. To learn more about the festival, visit: www.wilmingtonbookfestival.com
