Seminar for HBRSA at the USC Keck School of Medicine

Wednesday, February 26, 2014 | Los Angeles, CA – At the end of the month, the Health Behavior Research Students’ Association at the USC Keck School of Medicine, Department of Preventive Medicine will be hosting one of my doctoral student seminars. The seminar is entitled, “Post-Graduate Life: Looking Ahead to the Academic Job Market and Alternative Employment Opportunities”. I have had the pleasure of giving this seminar to interdisciplinary audiences, and have adapted this over the past several years for the Postdoctoral Research Institute and the USC Graduate School, Office of the Vice Provost.

BRIEF SUMMARY

We will discuss preparing for the academic job market, with a special consideration and discussion on alternative employment opportunities within and outside of educational institutions. We will discuss how to leverage one’s transferable skills to be applied to postdoctoral appointments, governmental agencies, non-profits, and other entities of interest to the audience.
