San Diego Run for the Hungry

November 26, 2015 | San Diego, CA – For the past several years, it has been a bit of a tradition to run a charity race on Thanksgiving morning in order to raise awareness and donate toward a much-needed cause. This year I participated in the San Diego Run for the Hungry, which was founded in 2002, to benefit people who face food insecurity across San Diego’s communities. (Click here for Race History)

For every participant in the race, Run for the Hungry is able to raise at least 185 meals through their race fees to help individuals and families in need.

Having no excuse, I gladly woke up bright and early to support the race along with almost 1,800 other participants in this year’s race. Admittedly, I haven’t run since before my California Coast Classic tour back in September-October, so it was great to get out and help the community. Despite this, I am proud to share that I placed in the top 15% and 13th in my race division!
